Known as the green heart of Italy, the region of Umbria is as spectacular – if not more so – as its Tuscan neighbor. Rolling green hills, hilltop medieval villages, fields of sunflowers as far as the eye can see…this is Umbria. Summer festivals, Christmas markets with living mangers, truffles…this is also Umbria. Come for the scenery and the culture and stay for the food and unique wines, particularly of the Sagrantino variety. One thing is guaranteed, though: you’ll never want to leave.
