Negroni Sbagliato...could I possibly have a new favorite aperitivo?

I know you all know how much I love an Aperol Spritz and that it's my favorite aperitivo. I know you know this because I post about my love of Spritzes quite often. However, this time I will not be talking about my happy cocktail because I think I may have discovered a new love!

On a recent trip to Italy I had the privilege of visiting Bar Basso in Milan. Why is this important, you may ask? Because Bar Basso is the birth place of the Negroni Sbagliato. For those of you who love Italian cocktails you are likely familiar with the Negroni - a concoction consisting of gin, Campari and sweet Vermouth. Now take a Negroni and make it less tangy and bubblier by replacing the gin with Prosecco and you have a Negroni Sbagliato - an incorrect Negroni. Well let me tell you, there is nothing incorrect about it. The Negroni Sbagliato is smooth, delicious and goes down way too easily!

So now Aperol Spritz and Negroni Sbagliato have officially started sharing the title for my favorite aperitivo.

If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and try both. Which will be your favorite? And in which Italian city or town will you be seen enjoying your favorite aperitivo this summer?
